The dry season is the most popular time to visit La Ruta Maya. Clear skies, warm temperatures, and minimal rainfall make it ideal for exploring archaeological sites. December through March see the most tourists, especially around holidays.

Wet Season (Green Season)

The wet season brings afternoon rains that cool things down and keep the jungle lush and green. Mornings are often clear, perfect for site visits. Fewer tourists mean a more intimate experience and lower prices. Hurricane season runs June-November, mainly affecting coastal areas.

Dry Season (Nov – Apr)
The most popular time. Expect crowds at Chichen Itza and Tulum. Book accommodation well in advance for December–March. Temperatures can be hot (35°C+) in April.
Wet Season (May – Oct)
Afternoon showers cool things down. Mornings are often clear — perfect for early site visits. Fewer tourists, lower prices. June–November is hurricane season; mainly affects coastal areas.
Highlands (Guatemala & Honduras)
Cooler year-round than the lowlands. Tikal in the Petén jungle can be hot and humid; bring extra water. Copán in Honduras has a pleasant climate most of the year.
