About Lubaantun
Lubaantun ('Place of the Fallen Stones') is remarkable for its unique construction technique — its large stone blocks were fitted together without mortar and without the use of carved stone monuments. The site gained notoriety as the alleged (and disputed) origin of the famous Crystal Skull.
